Jelena Jankovic ended Lindsay Davenport's winning streak in the semifinals of the China Open on Saturday and will next meet Agnes Szavay of Hungary in Sunday's title match.

Jankovic, the tournament's second seed and the third-ranked player in the world, notched a 6-3, 7-5 victory to beat Davenport for the first time in five all-time meetings. She also halted the American's eight-match winning streak.

Davenport hadn't lost a match since returning to singles action last week following a year-long layoff. She won last week's tournament in Bali, beating Jankovic in the quarterfinals along the way. It was the former world No. 1's first event after giving birth to a son in June.

Next up for Jankovic will be the sixth-seeded Szavay, who beat crowd favorite Peng Shuai, 6-1, 6-2, in Saturday's other semifinal.

Jankovic will be gunning for her sixth career singles title and fifth of 2007, but first since June at the Wimbledon tuneup in Birmingham. The Serbian star has made a pair of finals since that triumph, losing to Anna Chakvetadze of Russia in the Ordina Open and falling to Belgium's Justine Henin in the title match of the Rogers Cup before the U.S. Open.

In all, Jankovic is 4-3 in finals this year. She also won in Auckland, Charleston and Rome.

Szavay, meanwhile, will try for the second title of her career. She captured her first in Palermo back in July and was also a finalist at the U.S. Open tuneup in New Haven, losing to Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova.

The 18-year-old Szavay and 22-year-old Jankovic will meet for the first time.

A first prize of $88,265 will go to Sunday's winner.
