NEW YORK -- An All-Star team from the NBA Development League will travel to China this month to play in the Stankovic Cup, where the host team will include recent draft pick Yi Jianlian.

The D-League Ambassadors also will face the national teams from Venezuela, New Zealand, Slovenia and Angola during the six-team tournament starting on July 28 in Guangzhou and Macao.

D-League MVP Randy Livingston leads the 10-man team that will be coached by Larry Smith, who has been a head coach in the D-League and an assistant in the NBA.

The team with the best record in the round-robin tournament wins the 3-year-old Stankovic Cup, formed to give the Chinese a chance to compete against other national teams.

Yi was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the No. 6 pick in the NBA Draft, but hasn't committed to playing for them. His agent hoped Yi would be drafted by a major market team with a larger Chinese population.
