　　After spending several years playing in the United States and Canada, where he spent one season on the US PGA Tour in 1998, Iain, who is of Malaysian-Scottish parentage, switched his focus onto the Asian Tour in 2006. Earned his card by finishing tied fourth in Qualifying School and went on to establish himself with four top-10s at the Pakistan Open, SK Telecom Open in Korea, Bangkok Airways Open and Volkswagen Masters-China. Finished in the top-20 on three other occasions including at the season-ending Volvo Masters of Asia in Bangkok where he played in the final pairing alongside eventual winner Thongchai Jaidee. Also won a BMW car for a hole-in-one at the GS Caltex Maekyung Open in Korea. Iain qualified for the British Open in 1996, becoming the first Malaysian to do so. In 2007, Iain came close to a maiden Asian Tour title when he lost in a play-off to China's Liang Wen-chong at the Clariden Leu Singapore Masters. Was also tied 10th in the star-studded Johnnie Walker Classic in Phuket.
