Before taking his current post Twiston Davies was the CEO of Kagan Asia Media, the Asian regional division of Kagan Associates, one of the most respected media and telecommunications publishing and consulting houses in the United States. In the years before his post with Kagan the British-born Twiston Davies was a Hong Kong-based writer and editor. He specialised in the Asian television and telecoms industries from 1989 when he covered preparations for the launch of Asia's first commercial telecommunications satellite, AsiaSat-1, from Xichang in Sichuan Province. In the process, Twiston Davies closely followed the launch of more than 150 pay-TV channels and cable systems, as well as the increasing maturity of the terrestrial television market. Before moving to Asia in 1987, Twiston Davies was a journalist based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
