[Shenzhen, China]April 23, 2010 – The MissionHills Group has confirmed six-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo will join thestar-studded field for the inaugural Mission Hills Star Trophy, to be played atMission Hills Resort Hainan from October 28-31.
Asia’s ground-breakingCelebrity Pro-Am tournament will also feature Hong Kong actor and televisionhost Eric Tsang alongside America’s2011 Solheim Cup captain Rosie Jones. The quartet join previously announcedcelebrity participants Hugh Grant and Matthew McConnaughey in Asia’sleading annual entertainment event.
Mission Hills has alsoinvited popular Hong Kong stars including Eric Tsang、Simon Yam、Vivian Lai、Linda Wong、Michael Wong、Paul Chin、Eyvonne Lam、Eric Suen、Alan Tang、Albert Au、Gilbert Lam、Helen Ma、Kee Hing Lau、DAI Renee Dai to join the action and play as guests inthe highly anticipated tournament. More local celebrities are set to join thefield adding a sprinkling of star-power to the amateur element of the MissionHills Star Trophy.
The professional segment ofthe event will feature 20 male and female professional golfers competing for a‘winner takes all’ prize of US$1.28 million, the richest individual prize inAsian golf.
Faldo and Jones, a winnerof 13 LPGA titles in 24 years on Tour, 331weeks world’s No.1 golfer, GregNorman and China’s golfing trailblazer Zhang Lian-wei in pursuit of thephenomenal winner’s cheque.
The2010 Ryder Cup captain,Colin Montgomerie, will also be in the field alongside two of golf’s femalesuperstars, Annika Sorenstam and Se Ri Pak.
Greg Norman, China’smultiple Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Li Ning and Japan’s #1 comedian and talk showhost Akashiya Sanma will serve as Host Ambassadors for the Mission Hills StarTrophy.

The superstar participantswill be part of a field that includes 20 celebrities, 20 professionals and 120amateurs at the four-day Mission Hills Star Trophy. Amateur teams ofthree will play with a celebrity or professional golfer on the first two daysof the event in a team scramble format.
The weekend play will thenbe in four-ball stroke play format between 20 teams consisting of a celebrityand a professional, with a 36-hole individual professional even turningconcurrently with the US$1.28 million prize.
