新浪体育讯　June 5, 2009: The Dongfeng Nissan Teana Open will be the fourth event on this year’s Omega China Tour after Dongfeng Nissan was announced as title sponsor of the June 18-21 tournament near Hangzhou in Zhejiang province。

　　The Dongfeng Nissan Teana Open will offer a purse of RMB700,000 (US$102,000) and will be held at the new Anji King Valley Country Club, the week after the upcoming Luxehills Golf Championship in Chengdu。

　　The event will mark the first time the Omega China Tour has visited the coastal province of Zhejiang, south of Shanghai, since the circuit teed off in 2005。

　　Dongfeng Nissan, a joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Nissan Motor Company which produces the Teana among other Nissan car models in China, announced its sponsorship of the Omega China Tour event in a press conference at the Sofitel Wanda Beijing。

　　“Dongfeng Nissan title sponsoring an Omega China Tour event is a great match for us, as golfers and people who buy the Nissan Teana share similar sophisticated profiles and characteristics,” said Ye Lei, General Manager, Marketing Department of Dongfeng Nissan。

　　“Many golf fans have cars and know how to enjoy life. The Omega China Tour provides first-class professional golf tournaments, so the event provides a great chance for Dongfeng Nissan to promote its brand and Nissan cars。”

　　Yang Jie of the China Golf Association said: “Dongfeng Nissan joining the Omega China Tour is another great sign for Chinese golf in difficult economic times and expresses the company's confidence in the China market。

　　“The Dongfeng Nissan Teana Open is a great opportunity for Zhejiang golf fans and the development of the sport in the province. Zhejiang is a rich province and an economic leader in China, and this Omega China Tour event will let more people know about golf。”

　　Zhang Hao, Vice-President of the Handnice Group, developer of the Anji King Valley Country Club, believed the Omega China Tour event would provide a valuable boost for the profile of golf in the province。

　　“Golf developed late in Zhejiang compared to other provinces, but its economy is very strong and its golfing population is growing. We believe more people will get to know about golf and enjoy the sport through the Anji King Valley Country Club hosting the Omega China Tour,” Zhang said。

　　“We’ll help bring many young people to watch the tournament, so they can learn about golf, appreciate it and hopefully play in the future. We hope this is the first of many more such golf tournaments in Zhejiang。”

　　The Anji King Valley Country Club is located northwest of Hangzhou and features an 18-hole course by Mark Hollinger of JMP Golf Design Group. Omega China Tour players will be playing Hollinger designs two weeks in a row, as he also designed the layout at Luxehills International Country Club。

　　King Valley is located close to the famous Anji Bamboo Forest, which was used in such movies as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and House of Flying Daggers。
