The Status Quo and Managing Charateristics of European Golf Club Carol Borthwick目前任苏格兰爱姆伍德学院系主任。她1970年最初执教于苏格兰农业大学教授商业园艺学专业,1982年加入了爱姆伍德学院的教学团队,然后在接下来的20年时间里,Carol 致力于学院正处于起步阶段的高尔夫园艺产业这一课题的研究和运作。 Director of Golf and International Affairs, Elmwood College Carol did her initial training in Commercial Horticulture in the late 1970’s at the West of Scotland Agricultural College. In 1982 Carol joined the team at Elmwood College. At this time the College’s Horticultural department were just starting to run courses for the Golf Greenkeeping industry. Being a golfer and very interested in this developing area Carol was instrumental in the development for education courses to support the golf industry over the next 20 years. 目前爱姆伍德学院所设的专业已包含有高尔夫园艺学,高尔夫球场管理,高尔夫管理等专业,其中最近开设的有高尔夫训练及执行课程这项课程将于下一年正式成为PGA课程的一部分,这些成果的取得都无不归功于Carol及其团队的努力。此外,在1995年学院筹建自己的18洞球场时,Carol也担任了重要角色,至目前为止,该学院已经拥有了包含高尔夫球场,球会会所,专卖店,园艺中心,练习区等在内的一整套完善的高尔夫球硬件设施以及迷你比赛练习区。 Now Elmwood offers courses in Golf Greenkeeping, Golf Course Management, Golf Studies, Golf Management and most recently Golf Coaching and performance. Next year the golf coaching and performance courses will be part of the PGA suite of courses. Carol was also instrumental in the decision by the College in 1995 to build its own 18 hole golf course. The College now has an excellent teaching facility which includes the golf course, clubhouse, pro shop, state of the art greenkeeping facility centre and a new development still underway a golf academy with a driving range and short game practice area. Carol年轻时为苏格兰高尔夫女子国家队队员,曾利用业余时间学习并于2004年获得工商管理学硕士(MBA)学位。同时,Carol 也有着不俗的球技,直至目前为止,利用不多的打球时间,她却仍然保持着超过标准杆11杆的良好状态。 Carol achieved a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in 2004 on a part time basis through the Open University.Carol plays golf but with travel being a large part of her job, she does not play as much as I would like. Despite this her current handicap is 11, although in her younger days she was a 5 handicapper and was a member of the ladies county team for Perth and Kinross in Scotland |
