9/11 Davydenko After Match Press Conference

　　R: Please talk something about your first match this year in Beijing.

　　D: It was a long trip for me to come here after I finished my matches in the US Open. The long flight made me feel tough. But I’m happy that I just won the game.

　　R：You just mentioned that you were tired after a long trip. How could you keep your form and won the game?

　　D: I slept for a couple of hours in the rest room to come over the jet lag. Also I took some pain tablets for my headache.

　　R: Why did you take the pain tablets?

　　D: I felt tired after the long trip and the tablets could make me feel comfortable.

　　R: Do you agree that you become more popular because of the gambling issue?

　　D: It was from the beginning. Nearly all the newspapers covered the issue and my reputation was damaged. I looked like a bad guy and I felt depressed. Now I try to come back and explain it to the public. It has nothing to do with me.

　　R: It’s amazing that you can focus on the game and you are getting better and better. How can you do that?

　　D: First, it is good that the investigation is to the ATP, not me. Second, the support from my family, my manager and my brother who is my coach gives my great power.

　　R: This year you come here with your nephew. Do you have any plans other than the matches?

　　D: My wife is having her holiday in Russia. I don’t want to spend the days alone in Beijing, so I bring my nephew here. He is doing warming-up with me now and he’s 15 years old. Even though he has not participated in any matches, he will play better and better.
