The Pine Valley Beijing Open will be held at Beijing’s Pine Valley Golf Resort & Country Club from April 26-29, 2007. The tournament has been approved by the General Administration of Sport of China and has been co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and China Golf Association. The tournament will be jointly hosted by Beijing Sports Contest Administration Center and the Beijing Golf Association.
In 2007, the Ruoy Chai Group has invested 80,000,000 RMB into the organization for this high-level golf tournament of which the prize purse is 4,000,000 RMB. Golf great, Jack Nicklaus, master designer to Pine Valley’s golf course, will also be making an appearance and opening up Pine Valley’s Phase II golf course. The Ruoy Chai Group hopes that these events will all serve to popularize the sport of golf and inspire China’s youth to take up golf at a much earlier age.
The Pine Valley Beijing Open aims to raise awareness of golf and also promote development of the sport industry in China.
Executives of the Ruoy Chai Group also hope that the Pine Valley Beijing Open will attract both current and new golf fans while also contributing to the exciting sports atmosphere leading up to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
